iTunes lets the iPhone users move files between the iDevice and computer. So, without this program, it is quite difficult to transfer an audio or video file from a computer to iDevice or vice versa.
iPhone users often complain that their iPhone is not showing up in iTunes on Windows 10. Mostly, this problem occurs after updating iTunes to its latest version. This issue occurred when you are running an outdated version of iTunes on your iPhone.
Furthermore, if the USB driver of the iPhone is outdated, then you may also come across the same problem. So, if you are unaware of how to get rid of this issue, then you can go through the section discussed hereunder.
Effective Solutions to Solve iPhone not Showing up in iTunes on Windows 10:
There are several ways that you can implement to solve this issue. Here we are going to discuss some of them. So, have a look at the solutions described below:
Fix 1: Choose the Trust Option
This is one of the easiest ways that you can check at first. Usually, it is the basic settings you need to check after connecting the iPhone with a USB cable. This setting helps the iPhone users to decide whether they should let the system acess the files of the iDevice or not.
Furthermore, it appears only after unlocking the iPhone and connecting it to the system. So, once you connect the device to the system, you have to unlock the iPhone first. Then, check whether you receive a pop-up that says ‘Trust This Computer?’
Once you get this pop-up, tap on the ‘Trust’ option. If you choose the ‘Don’t Trust’ option, then the iPhone will not show up in iTunes.
After doing this, you can check if the issue is sorted. Else, you can move on to the other ways provided below.
Fix 2: Update the iTunes Application
Apple often releases updates for the iTunes program. You can update the iTunes to check if it helps you to solve this problem.
How to Update iTunes?
First of all, connect the iPhone to the system. Then, launch the iTunes application on the computer. Then, tap on the Device button from the upper left pane of the screen.
After that, tap on the ‘Summary’ option and then click on the ‘Check for Update’ option. Now, it will start to search for the available update.
Once it gets the latest version, it will show that on the screen of the PC. Click on the ‘Download and Install’ button to proceed. It will start to download and install the latest version of iTunes.
Once you complete the updating process, restart the system and reconnect the iPhone once again to check whether the issue is fixed.
Fix 3: Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
The Apple Mobile Device Service gets installed automatically on your computer while installing the iTunes program. Moreover, you will find this service in the ‘Services’ section.
You can restart this service to check whether this service is working or not.
- For that, you can open the Services menu on the system.
- To do this, search for “services” in the search box. Alternatively, you can open the Run box by pressing the R and Windows key simultaneously.
- From the keyboard, type “services.msc” in the input field, and click on the OK button to open the list of services.
- Following that, select the ‘Apple Mobile Device Service’ option and right-click on it.
- Choose the Restart option from the list.
- It will take a few minutes to complete the process.
Once the system starts up, you can check if you can find the iPhone button on iTunes. Else, you can reinstall the USB driver of your iPhone to solve this issue.
Fix 4: Reinstall the USB Driver on your iPhone
According to some users, they have solved this issue by reinstalling the USB driver on your iPhone. To do this, first, make sure that the iDevice is not connected with the PC.
Afterwards, go to the location “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.” Open the Drivers folder.
There you will find the file ‘usbaapI64.inf’ that is the Setup Information file of the system. Select it and right-click on it. Next, choose the ‘Install’ option from the list.
After a few seconds, the ‘The operation is completed successfully’ message will be shown on the screen. Now, launch iTunes and try to connect the iPhone once again. It should start to work smoothly as expected.
Fix 5: Reinstall the iTunes Application
After trying all the above hacks, if the issue is still not resolved, then you can reinstall the iTunes as your last resort. Before that, you will have to make sure that iTunes is removed from the system entirely.
Afterwards, visit the official website of Apple and download and install iTunes on the system. Once you complete the installation process, you can check if the issue is fixed.
